The Australian Bushfire Crisis has had a catastrophic effect on both the people and wildlife in Australia and it has had a profound effect on everyone here at Contract Services.
As a result of this, we jumped at the chance to support a fundraising event hosted by Horses for Hope GB, which saw Olympian Andrew Herfferman don his top hat and tails in aid of charities that are currently battling the effects of the fires in Australia.
The dressage event which was held at Somerford Park, Cheshire on 26th of January, featured rides from dutch rider Andrew Heffernan and a host of fellow equestrians from the equine community, whilst Team GB’s Gareth Hughes also gave up his time to present the prizegiving.
Riders took part in 166 dressage tests, all in Australian themed fancy dress.
Both local and national businesses, as well as the wider equine community, came together to ensure the event was a big success with thousands of pounds raised, all of which will be split between Equestrian Fire Relief Fund, the New South Wales Rural Fire Service and The WWF Australia Bushfire Emergency fund.
We’d like to congratulate everyone involved who helped make the day such a fantastic event, including the organisers who granted us the opportunity to be involved as a sponsor, as well as the host of volunteers and competitors that helped ensure the day ran smoothly.
As a business, we take great pride in giving back to both the local and wider community and we are always looking for ways we can help support the causes that need our support the most.
Make sure you check our blog regularly to see which cause we’ll be helping next and to keep up with all our latest news, including our new projects.
